Monica Nejathaim is an associate attorney at Fischetti & Malgieri LLP. Ms. Nejathaim joined the firm in the summer of 2012 as a legal intern and served as a law clerk to the firm beginning in August 2014. In December 2014 she became an associate in the firm. Ms. Nejathaim has been involved with cases including healthcare fraud, money laundering, securities fraud, and immigration fraud.
As an associate, she served as second seat trial support to Ronald P. Fischetti in a RICO conspiracy trial involving healthcare fraud and securities fraud in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Ms. Nejathaim received her J.D. degree from New York Law School, cum laude, in 2014, where she graduated in the top ten percent of her class. She received the Sylvia D. Garland Award for Excellence in Subjects Relating to Civil Litigation and the merit-based Albert Parker ’21 Scholarship. While in her third year of law school, Ms. Nejathaim was a student attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic where she represented indigent criminal defendants in New York County Criminal Court pursuant to a Student Practice Order. As a student attorney she successfully represented indigent clients in a full range of various state criminal cases from inception to disposition or trial through court appearances and zealous interactions with adversaries.
